Obituary

Adrien C. Picard, 73, of Saco, passed away peacefully on Thursday April 22, 2021, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He was born in Biddeford on October 16, 1947, a son of Conrad and Rita (Houde) Picard and was educated from Saco schools.

As a young man Adrien proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married his wife Noelline Beaulieu on July 5, 1969. Most of his working career was with Hector Bealieu, as Adrien would as say "as a certified professional trucking engineer". During retirement, he continued to work and help his son with his company Private Power Services.

Adrien had many hobbies. He was an avid hunter, enjoying many expeditions with his two boys. He also had a green thumb, maintaining a large garden throughout the years.

Mr. Picard was a man of great faith and a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church. His willingness to spread the word of God kept him busy in his community. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and quickly rose through the ranks to become  Grand Knight. Adrien was bestowed Knight of the Year, two years in a row, for his dedication. He volunteered at many of the Knights events, this included serving Thanksgiving meals, St. James School fund raisers and starting schools for underprivileged children in other countries, to name a few. He had a kind ear, was a shoulder to lean on and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He will be sadly missed.

In his final years he loved spoiling and spending time with his grandchildren. Giving his granddaughters rides on the four wheeler was a consistent joy. He will be remembered as strong, caring, fun-loving and a laid back husband, father, and grandfather.

He was predeceased by one daughter Sylvie Duclos, his parents Conrad and Rita and his brother Ronald.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Noelline Picard, his three children, Conrad Picard and his wife Sharon, Hector Picard and his wife Janet, Melissa Demers and her husband Steve and grandchildren Daniel, Sarah, Chase, Hannah and Libbie.  He is also survived by his siblings Aline Saucier and her husband Joey, Dorothy Jarry and her husband Daniel, Rachel Viger, Suzanne Gray and her husband Gary, Donald Picard and his wife Annette and Richard Picard and his wife Lorrie, nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be from 4-7PM Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James Street, Saco. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at St. Joseph's Church in Biddeford. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco.
