Obituary

Alan A. Papale, 66, of Saco, passed away peacefully early Friday morning on June 24, 2022, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

He was born in Yonkers, New York on September 7, 1955, a son of Salvatore and Dolores (Burke) Papale.

Al graduated from Saunders Trades and Technical High School and went on to receive two Master's Degrees in Engineering and in Math.

Al was a hard working and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He married his wife Carol on October 21, 1978. In his earlier years, he owned and operated a successful business fixing televisions and VCRs out of his garage. He then went on to work for Bayer. The family lived in New York and Connecticut prior to moving to Saco, Maine in 2008. He worked for IDEXX Labs in Westbrook for the past 16 years as an Electro Optical Engineer.

Al had many interesting hobbies. Earlier, he enjoyed bowling and boating. Most recently, he would go fishing, camping, and continuously work on his truck. He spent time listening to classic rock, on the Hamm radio with his friends, and always tinkering around keeping busy. Most of all, he loved to be with his family. He will be sadly missed.

He was predeceased by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife Carol (Robibero) Papale; two daughters Michelle Wilder and her husband Corey, and Arianna Abbott and her husband Brandon; three grandchildren Brianna, Camden, and Elijah; and two brothers, Daniel Papale and Robert Papale and his wife Christine, and nieces and nephews.

Visitation is private. The Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00PM Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at St. Joseph's Church in Biddeford. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco. To view Alan's memorial page or leave an online condolence, please visit www.cotefuneralhome.com
