Annette M. Dumais, 85, of Dayton, passed away Sunday evening on November 16, 2025, at Summer Commons in Sanford.

She was born in Biddeford on March 17, 1940, a daughter of Marc and Lucienne (Chretien) Cote. Annette graduated from St. Joseph's High School, class of 1958.

On April 23, 1960, Annette married her husband Richard Dumais. The couple began their journey together and raised three children.

Annette loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family. After the children were older, she worked as a nanny and later for Rousseau Insurance Company in Biddeford for several years.

Mrs. Dumais was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church. She was an active volunteer for the catholic school classrooms and lunchrooms and also made costumes for the annual St. Patrick's Day concerts.

She enjoyed arts and crafts. One of her favorite pastimes was taking rides throughout New England with her husband Richard in their 1946 Ford Convertible. Annette got to travel the southern states with her daughter while clogging for Downeast Cloggers. She also helped out as secretary and treasurer for the organization. She will be remembered as selfless wife, mother and grandmother. She was always concerned with the needs of others rather than her own. She will be sadly missed.

She was predeceased by her husband Richard Dumais on September 29, 2023 and by her sister Carmen Janson.

She is survived by her three children Christopher Dumais, Jennifer Hatch and fiancée Mark Piispanen and Gretchen Kelly and husband Scott. She is also survived by five grandchildren Benjamin Hatch, Nathan Hatch, Matthew Hatch, Alexis Kelly and Scott Kelly, nieces and nephews.
