Arlene Johanne Murchison, 91, of Saco Maine passed away on March 24, 2025, at Maine Medical Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

Arlene was born in Saco Maine on February 6, 1934, daughter of Ernest and Florence Maddox. Arlene graduated from Thornton Academy in 1951 where she was known for her beautiful blond hair, striking blue eyes and dimples. Arlene was very active in class plays, softball, volleyball, the glee club, & cheerleading.

Arlene started her banking career at the Canal Bank which led to her 34 years at the Saco & Biddeford Savings Bank. After her retirement from the bank , Arlene worked part time for the City of Saco in the Finance Department. Arlene was active in the community and volunteered at the Amtrak Station where she was known for her smiles.  Arlene would bring her knowledge and skills of knitting to Amtrak with her, the public enjoyed her talents.

Arlene was a faithful member of Trinity Church in Saco, where she was very involved in the ECW, Turkey Dinners, Church Fairs, quilting and other activities that took place over her many years there. Arlene was especially known for her Monkey Bread and English Muffin Bread, taking orders on almost a weekly basis in support of Trinity. Both her girls, Kathy and Robin, were a part of Trinity thru their school years. Every time there was a baby arriving, she would get out her knitting needles or quilting skills, creating a gift for her Trinity family, friends and her family. Arlene had a special place for the little ones.

Arlene was very adventurous with driving her husband, sister, friend, dogs & cat, across the United States visiting her loved ones. Arlene loved square dancing, playing cards, creating fabulous meals & desserts for parties & gatherings.

Arlene is survived by her daughters, Kathy Kennie & Robin Cote. Also, her nieces Barbara Buckley, Beverly Usher, Libby Shelton, Susan Turman and Karen Pedigo. Arlene had six Grandchildren by Kathy, Joshua Clark, Nicole Kennie, Babbie Joe Mccorrison, Melissa Washburn, Jessica Gardner, and Brice Kennie. Arlene had one Grandchild by Robin, Taylor Cote, along with many great nieces and nephews. Arlene was living in Gorham, at Inn at Village Square where she had made special friends and she will be very missed, along with her Trinity Family.

Arlene is predeceased by her husband Darrell "Murch" Murchison ,and 2 prior husbands Raymond Litwinowich and Al Rogers.  Her sisters, Florence Davis, Pauline (Polly) Williams, and infant sister Johanne and brother George.

A funeral service will be held at 11AM Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 15 Cleveland St., Saco. A reception will be held at the church after the service. Burial will be at a later date.
