Astrid R. Bailey, 71, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Harbor House in Hingham, Massachusetts.

She was born in Portland on November 12, 1952, a daughter of Remi and Yvette (Huloux) Rioux. She was a graduate of Portland High School and received a degree in business from Andover College.

Astrid met her husband Harry (Bart) in Portland and they were married on August 28, 1976.

They owned and operated Vacationland Broadcasting which included WPIG, WHYR, WIDE and WRED. Astrid handled all the sales for the radio stations while making many close friendships that she still treasures today.

She enjoyed traveling, taking cruises and going to the beach. She also liked gardening and could be seen on one of her longs walks throughout the neighborhood over the years.

Astrid loved to help people. She was a volunteer and board member of the Salvation Army, an organization she took great pride in. The organization meets human need wherever, whenever and however they can.

Astrid was predeceased by her husband Harry Barton Bailey Jr. on December 5, 2022, her granddaughter Samantha Chantal Bailey and by her brother in law Earl Christensen.

She is survived by her daughter Chantal (Bailey) Frenette and husband Ian, son Dane Remi Bailey and wife Wendy, grandchildren Hudson, Max and great grandson Gavin. She is also survived by sister's Murielle Christensen, Christiane Leclair and husband Dave and Brigitte Leask and fiancé Rick Fitzsimmons, a niece and several nephews.
