Bonita S. Armstrong

Bonita S. Armstrong, 84, of Saco, passed away early Thursday morning on April 16, 2026, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.

She was born in Biddeford on February 14, 1942, a daughter of Joseph and Lucienne (Nadeau) Ellis. She graduated from Thornton Academy, class of 1960.

Bonita was employed by Corning / AVX for over 25 years, retiring in June of 2025.

She had many interesting hobbies. These included gardening, painting and bird watching. She enjoyed traveling, her favorite destinations were Germany and India and of course locally in New England. She played lots of pool, studied martial arts and Reiki Training, the power of healing.

Bonita also had other interests. She listened to Elvis, The Beatles, Patsy Cline and Judy Collins. Her favorite song was "Send In The Clowns". Old Black and White movies were also one her favorite pastime list.

Bonita was a member of the Biddeford Fraternal Order of Eagles and a lifetime member of Auxiliary Veteran's Foreign Wars. She was a member of the Maine APA and the Thursday Night Eagles 8–Ball League and a proud mom of three Eagles Scouts, Bob, Chris and Randy. She will be sadly missed

She was predeceased by her first husband Ira Eastman and by her second husband Ralph Armstrong.

She is survived by her four children, Robert Eastman a 23yr Army Iraq/Bosnia Veteran, a Lifetime member of the VFW Post 7997 of Old Orchard Beach Maine, a DOD Civilian residing in Germany, Christopher Eastman a Journeyman Electrician and wife Dorinda residing in Old Orchard Beach Maine, Randy Eastman a 20yr Naval Reserve Iraqi Veteran, a Lifetime member of VFW Post 7997 of Old Orchard Beach, a member of the Biddeford Fraternal Order of Eagles, a Staff Accountant with MaineHealth, Owner of Eastman Accounting & Notary Public residing in Old Orchard Beach Maine and Michelle Eastman a Cashier at Shaw's in Saco, residing in Saco Maine, eight grandchildren Todd, Carrie, Samantha, Kristina, Jessica, Joshua, Jordan and Jeannette and by many great grandchildren.

Visiting Hours will be from 2-5PM Sunday, May 3, 2026 at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James Street, Saco. Burial will be private in her family lot at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Biddeford. Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.
