Brie
Blunt
Feb 2, 1977 — Feb 19, 2025
Brie (Braley) Blunt of Saco and Dresden, Maine passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, with her family by her side. Brie was a granddaughter, daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend, passionate about loving, with a vibrant spirit and creativity that touched the lives of all who knew her. A devoted mother and wife, Brie always put her children and husband first and was passionately dedicated to creating a safe and loving home while managing the household, multiple properties, and her children's home school education.
From a young age, it was clear that Brie had an eye for art. She excelled through private art lessons as a young girl as well as Thornton Academy's art program. Brie enjoyed her time at Art Institute of Boston, Maine College of Art and USM, earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts and a degree in Art Education. Brie was a beloved artist in many Maine communities and had a deep love of all art, but particularly folk art. She also loved music, and interior design. Whether restoring their 1700's Dresden farmhouse into a stunning home for her family, or painting custom murals and pieces, her sense of style and attention to detail were unmatched.
Kind and giving, she had a strong sense of community, giving what she could and doing business with local farms and businesses. Brie was fervently committed to using local and organic sources for incredible meals and treats she made for her family and shared with so many loved ones in her lifetime. Known for her quick wit and dry sense of humor, Brie had a way of making everyone around her smile, even in the most challenging of times. Her laughter and spirit will be greatly missed, but her legacy of love, creativity, and humor will live on in her three beautiful children; her pride and joy.
Brie is survived by her husband and high school sweetheart Robert Blunt, of Saco and Dresden; her children, Ella, Asa and Rian Blunt of Dresden; her loving parents, Christopher and Carol (Bedell)Braley of Saco; her maternal grandmother, Patricia Hobbs Bedell of Saco; two devoted sisters Chori Braley and Christyna [Garrett] McCormack of Saco; four nieces, Braley and Amelia McCormack, Courtney and Madison Dexter, Robert's sister Catherine(Blunt) Goulet, Robert's father John Blunt and countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Brie's family has chosen to remember her life privately. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Maine Stands Up, The Dempsey Center, or Home Schoolers of Maine in Brie's honor.
