Obituary

Carlton G. Fenderson

SACO – It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the death of our father Carlton Gilbert Fenderson. He passed away peacefully at home on November 17, 2024, with his loving daughter by his side.

Carlton was born in Biddeford, ME on January 3, 1937, the son of Carlton and Edith Garland Fenderson.

One of nine children, Carlton's formative years were spent in Old Orchard Beach.  At a very young age, he learned the importance of hard work, compassion, loyalty and integrity.  These traits would guide him throughout his life as an employee, husband, father, brother and friend. He was a valued employee at Lucas Tree Company for over 40 years and never missed a day of work. His dedication and work ethic inspired everyone around him.

Carlton was humble and lived a simple life. He enjoyed watching old western movies and dancing at The York County Alliance Club, often filling up the room with his signature moves and infectious laughter.  More than anything, he cherished spending time with Ann, his beloved wife of 43 years.  His kind heart, generous spirit and passion for life inspired so many people and we are grateful for the time we had with him.  We will miss him dearly, but take comfort in our memories of him and the countless lives he touched along the way.

Carlton was predeceased by his loving wife Ann; brothers Gordon, Lloyd, Wellesley, and Hubert; and sisters Vesta Kennedy, Irene Bubar,.and Carlene Dube.

He will be deeply missed by all, especially his daughter, Carol McPherson and her husband Scott of Saco; his son, Kevin Fenderson and his wife Karen of Haverhill, Ma; brother Richmond Fenderson and his wife Danielle of Poland; grandchildren Michael McPherson and his wife Melissa of Buxton, Jessica Vazquez and her husband Nathaniel of Haverhill, MA, Matthew and Joseph Fenderson of Haverhill, MA; and great grandchildren Hayden and Megan.

Visiting hours will be from 9:30-11:00 a.m. on Saturday December 7th with a funeral service at 11:00 am at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James Street (corner of James and Beach St.), Saco, Me.  Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco where he will be laid to rest with his wife Ann.
