Carol Emily Brower, 69, of East Waterboro, passed away Sunday morning, July 12, 2026, at home, surrounded by family.
She was born in Queens, NY, on January 27, 1957, a daughter of Peter and Harriet (Cappon) Maler. Carol was raised alongside her many brothers in Woodbridge, NJ. She was educated in local schools.
She attended different colleges before finding her niche at the University of Southern Maine where she received a bachelor's degree. For many years she was employed as a teacher. She cherished the relationships she made with her students.
Carol met the love of her life, Stuart Brower, in 2002. They were married on April 24, 2004. Together they shared many happy memories in 22 years of marriage.
Carol was a talented singer who was classically trained and later became the lead vocalist in a band. She also created beautiful ceramic pottery when time permitted. Carol was also an avid traveler and visited places in the Arctic, Austria, and many other destinations. However, she loved her family most of all and will be missed by many.
Carol was predeceased by her parents, and some of her brothers.
Carol is survived by her husband: Stuart Brower, her daughter: Emily Gooze, her two sons: Jared Gooze and wife Kateln, and Brian Gooze, her step-son: Stephen Brower, some of her brothers, and her grandchildren: Joshua, James, Jacob, Jeremiah, and Jonathan.
Carol will be laid to rest at Laurel Hill Cemetery. In accordance with Carol's wishes, there will be no public services.
