Carol A. Doyon, 83, of Lyman, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, after a brief illness on Friday, December 20, 2024.

Carol was born in Biddeford on October 14, 1941, the daughter of Roland and Eleanor Bergeron. She was raised in Kennebunk and graduated from Kennebunk High School in 1960.

On July 1, 1961, she married the love of her life, Eugene J. Doyon. Together, they raised seven children while living in Saco before retiring to their summer home on Kennebunk Pond in Lyman, where they spent their remaining years.

Early on, Carol held various positions at local mills and factories. Later, in addition to raising her children, she maintained the books for her husband's construction business.  During retirement she worked part-time at the Kennebunk Dairy Queen, a job she thoroughly enjoyed.

Carol was an avid reader. She enjoyed traveling with her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren, particularly at the family camp in Lyman, which became her cherished home in retirement. She loved getting spoiled by her sister, June, while visiting her in Florida. Above all, she treasured her family and the moments they shared. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Carol was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Doyon, with whom she shared 40 years of marriage; by her parents, Roland and Eleanor Bergeron; and by her brother, Raymond Bergeron.

She is survived by her seven children: Debra Thibodeau and her partner, Chris, of Biddeford; Ann Blais and her husband, Michael, of Lyman; Jo-Ann Doyon and her partner, Jeff, of South Berwick; Reina Morissette and her husband, David, of Biddeford; Lea Welch and her partner, Timothy, of Pleasantville, PA; Nanette Cobbett and her husband, Craig, of Lyman; Eugene Doyon of Lyman; one sister June Durette and her husband Pete of Wells and Davenport, Florida.

She is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Katie Doyon, Justin Reny, Alyssa Blais, Gage Blais, Ebonie Young, Zachary Welch, Damien Welch, Xavier Welch, Katherine Welch, Kyle Braciska, Leanna Parino, Jacob Cobbett, Ryan Cobbett, and Lauren Cobbett; by eight great-grandchildren: Kendra, Kaylee, Julian, Cooper, Oliver, Max, Brynlee, and Tiffany; as well as by many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to her nurse, Jessica, and the care team at SMHC for their compassionate care, providing comfort during Carol's final days. Your kindness will always be remembered with gratitude.

In keeping with Carol's wishes, there will be no visiting hours. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date, followed by a graveside burial.
