Carol A. Wells

Carol A. Wells, 81, of Ocean Park, passed away early Tuesday morning on May 7, 2024 at home.

She was born in Biddeford on November 19, 1942, a daughter of Larry and Lillian (Picher) Smyth.

Carol met her husband Tom her junior year of high school. She graduated from Old Orchard Beach High School, class of 1961. On July 14, 1967, Tom and Carol got married. Carol went on to school and received a Bachelor's in Business.

Earlier, Carol owned and operated Caryl's Style-O-Rama in Hyde Park, Massachusetts. She also had her license to teach Cosmetology in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

In 1972, the couple moved to Houlton and raised their family. Carol loved being a homemaker and taking care of her children. She volunteered in the community, was a substitute teacher and a child advocate for DHHS. They spent lots of time boating, biking and time outdoors. The family enjoyed winters in Houlton and summers at the family camp on Drews Lake.

In 2001, the family moved to Ocean Park to be closer to family and all that the community had to offer. She enjoyed shopping, holidays and family gatherings. Her favorite pastime was going to Disneyworld in Florida with her family and friends. Over the years, they took more than 38 trips to their favorite destination.

She was predeceased by one son James Wells on June 27, 2022.

She is survived by her husband Thomas W. Wells and her son Thomas N. Wells and his wife Nicole.
