Charles A. Sherman III "Chick" 82, of Biddeford and formerly of Dayton, Maine, passed away unexpectedly in the company of his loved ones at Rumford Hospital on Thursday, November 4th, 2021.

He was born in Newport, Rhode Island on November 19th, 1938. He was the son of Charles A. Jr. and Marian (Worthley) Sherman. Charles graduated from Roger Williams High School, class of 1957. He later attended University of Rhode Island for agriculture, where he met the love of his life.

He married his blushing bride Linda Ann Sherman January 26 ^th , 1963. He ran a dairy farm on Wyatt Road, in Middletown RI, until summer of 1969, at which time they packed up the family and farm and moved to Dayton Maine. He continued with his passion – farming, until the winter of 1984. He worked as a truck driver for Shaw's supermarkets and Fresh Pack Seafood. In March of 1995, he purchased his own rig and became an owner operator. He traveled the country while working for Land Star Ranger, occasionally taking Linda along for the adventure. By May of 2000, he decided it was time to slow down. He sold his truck and worked part time for NTI driving trucks to the testing site. He and Linda continued to travel around the country on numerous road trips and cruises. Their travels included destinations like Bermuda, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, England, Scotland, Wales, Nova Scotia, Canada and numerous visits to Disney. His hobbies included snowmobiling, reading and watching westerns, and watching the New England Patriots.

He was predeceased in death by his loving wife Linda, and his parents.

He is survived by his son Charles A. Sherman IV "Carl" and his partner Diane Paul, his daughter Nancy Carlson and her husband Rick. Granddaughter Ashley and husband Robert Hickox and their 5 fur kids, grandson William "Chip" and wife Jacquelyn and his great granddaughter Eva St. Pierre.

He is also survived by siblings Bruce and wife Barbara of Vermont and brother Arthur and wife Terri of New Mexico.

He leaves behind his close friend and companion Pamela Boyden, a fellow widower; they found comfort together in their mutual grief from their respective losses. They spent their days together enjoying meals, going to appointments, attending each other's churches on Sundays and watching their favorite movies and shows.

He was loved dearly by many and will be missed by all.
