Chuck G. Dubois

Chuck G. Dubois, 48, of Castaic California, and formerly of Arundel, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 in California.

He was born in Portland on September 22, 1976, a son of Claude and Claire (Guay) Dubois. Chuck was educated at Mildred L. Day Elementary School, and graduated from Thornton Academy, class of 1995.

His childhood on the family farm was filled with experiences that average children never had; from handling a team of horses harnessed to a hay wagon, to mudding through the fields at the age of nine with his old U.S. Mail Jeep.  As a young boy, Chuck learned the family excavation business, and the value of putting in a hard day's work.  During High School, and for a brief time afterwards, Chuck worked alongside his dad and brother operating large-scale excavation equipment.  He was accomplished in auto body repair, and took on side jobs from time to time restoring cars for family members and local businesses. He also loved to make people laugh.  Being quite a jokester he often looked for opportunities to catch people off guard with an unexpected prank or comment.

It wasn't long before his thirst for adventure called him out to the west coast, where he developed a passion for surfing, camping and hiking.  With the skills he learned growing up, Chuck easily found employment in Southern California as an equipment operator, and made the California Pacific Coast his permanent home.

In recent years his focus on his family in Maine increased, and he strengthened his relationship with his mother by calling to talk with her every week. He will be sadly missed.

Chuck was predeceased by his father, Claude Dubois, in 2015.

He is survived by his mother, Claire Dubois; by his sister, Cathy Sawyer and husband Leroy; by his brother, Carl Dubois; as well as by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, May 17, 2025 in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Biddeford.
