Obituary

Debra M. Ford

Saco

Debra Marie Ford, 67, of Dayton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at home.

She was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on June 26, 1955, a daughter of Joseph and Rita (Ayotte) Cross. Debbie went to Parsonsfield Elementary School and graduated from Sacopee Valley High School, class of 1973.

As a young woman Debbie worked at the Cornish Inn. She later moved on to the law offices of Jenson, Baird, Gardiner & Henry.  In 1997, she found a job she truly enjoyed, administrative assistant for the athletic director of Massabesic High School. She made many friends and cherished the relationships she made with the students and her co-workers. She will be sadly missed by many.

Debbie had many interesting hobbies. She spent many hours outdoors, from swimming in her pool, riding her Kawasaki Mule, to watching wild birds. She liked excitement of bingo and also the slow pace of a good puzzle. She had many special memories going to Disney World every other year, but nothing compared to time spent with her family and close friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Meagan Major and husband Brock II, Michelle Elie and husband Rick, two grandchildren Madison Major and Brock Major III who affectionately call her "Dayton Mimi", and ex-husband Steven Ford. She is also survived by four brothers, Dennis Cross and wife Lennie, David Cross and wife Stephanie, Donald Cross and wife Patricia and Duane Cross, several nieces and nephews.
