Denise Grace Berube

Denise Grace Berube, 60, peacefully departed at her home on September 21, 2026. She was a deeply loved wife, mother, sister, and friend to many.

Denise was born on October 25, 1965, in Muskegon, Michigan to Robert and Pauline Dion, and was raised in Gloucester, Massachusetts along with her five siblings. In 2010 she moved with her husband, Leonard Berube, to southern Maine where they raised their two children. Denise’s passion for creativity and education was fulfilled by her time as an at-home mother, which she often described as her greatest joy. She loved walking by the ocean and in the cemetery where she could watch the birds. Her life was dedicated to quality relationships, and her spirit of love and compassion were accompanied by a deep faith she carried with her through all of her days.

Denise is survived by her husband of 27 years, Leonard Berube; her daughter, Emrys Berube; her son, James Berube; her mother, Pauline Dion; her siblings Angela, Annette, Dean, Paula, and Maureen; and many close friends that she regarded as family.

A wake will be held at Cote Funeral Home in Saco on October 2, 2026, from 4-7pm. There will also be a celebration of life at Fort Williams Park, Picnic Pavilion in Cape Elizabeth on October 3, 2026, from 4-7pm.
