Dennis L. Pittfield, 73, of Lyman, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Biddeford.

He was born in Saco on May 29, 1951, son of Robert E. Pittfield and Barbara E. (Davis) Pittfield Peters.

Dennis was a graduate of Old Orchard Beach High School, class of 1969. Soon after he married his loving wife Susan Prejean on May 31st. The couple started their family and raised two children together in the stone village in Old Orchard Beach.

From a generation of hard workers, Dennis worked in various industries and in different capacities over the years. He was employed by SD Warren, Westpoint Pepperell and spent 18 years with Eastern Propane as a route driver. He ended his working career with BBI Waste Industries in Old Orchard Beach, retiring in 2011.

Community and safety were important to Dennis. He served as a Reserve Officer in the Old Orchard Police Department from 1973 to 1984. He also volunteered for Old Orchard Beach Rescue for several years.

Dennis had many interesting hobbies. He enjoyed camping, traveling, riding motorcycles and was a car enthusiast. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and as quite the character with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

He was predeceased by his parents and by his sister Lynette Feeney.

He is survived by his wife Susan Pittfield, daughter Cheryl Ferland and husband Nich and son Darrell Pittfield and his wife Gina. He also leaves behind four grandchildren Brandon Ferland and wife Korrie, Alexis Mink and husband Nick, Sean Pittfield and Jacob Pittfield, two great grandchildren Peyton and Rylee as well as a nephew Jeff Feeney and wife Lynda.
