Dolores L. Martel Belanger, 92, of Saco, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at The Wardwell Retirement Community in Saco.

She was born in Biddeford on February 20, 1933 a daughter of Wilfrid and Exilda (Dubuc) Binette.

Dolores was raised in Biddeford, attended St. Joseph's school and graduated from Biddeford High school in 2009. She also attended classes at the York County Senior College.

Dolores was a homemaker who raised five children. She was employed by Laconia Federal Credit Union, Fleurant Oil, City of Saco and as executive secretary of the Biddeford Saco Lodge of Elks.

She had many interesting hobbies including cribbage, poker and knitting and crocheting. She loved traveling, going to the beach and to casinos. But most of all she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed.

She was predeceased by her first husband Ernest Martel in 2008, by one son Michael Martel in 1975, by her second husband Gerard Belanger in 2021 and by siblings Antoinette Binette, Lorraine Labbe, Aline Alley, Cecile Greenleaf, Donald Binette, Wilfrid Binette Jr., Paul Binette and Leo Richard Binette.

She is survived by one son Roger Martel and wife Patricia, three daughters Susan Branyen and husband Gary, Cathy Cyr and husband Mark, Linda Gillis and husband Kevin. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Jonathan Martel, Stephen Martel, Timothy Branyen, Rebecca Manning and husband Adrian, Sarah Branyen, Scott Cyr, Michelle Cerroni and husband Kevin, Sam Gillis, Tommy Gillis and wife Sarah and four great grandchildren Arden, Cymbeline, Sonnet and Arianna.

Dolores is also survived by her three stepsons: Richard and wife Patricia, Norman and wife Elizabeth, Steven and partner Debbie, a step son-in-law Doug Ellis and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visiting Hours will be held from 9:30 – 10:30AM Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, Saco. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00AM at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco.
