Earlene June Scammon

Ocean Park

Earlene June Scammon, 91, of Ocean Park and formerly of Old Orchard Beach, passed away early Wednesday morning on August 3, 2022, at Seal Rock Healthcare in Saco.

She was born in Biddeford on June 11, 1931, a daughter of Harry Earl and Lillie Dora (Fowler) Rumery. She was a graduate of Old Orchard Beach High School.

Earlene was proprietor of E J's Crafts and Novelties, an arts and crafts store, in Old Orchard Beach during the 1980's. She enjoyed sharing the treasures that she made with her family and friends.

Her hobbies were quilting and needlepoint. Later in life while living at the Pines, she maintained the clothing section by mending, washing and selling the clothes for vegetables for the Pines Neighborhood Community. She was always up for the task of volunteering and organizing many community events.

She was predeceased by Robert B. Wester Sr, Matthew A. Magyar, & Ronald M. Scammon, by her daughter Sandra L. Blow and by one brother Lewis E. Rumery.

She is survived by her son Robert Wester, four grandchildren Kevin Tarbox, Kirk Wester, Kyle Wester and Kara Anderson, ten great grandchildren Taylor, Kyla, Annabell, Sanjuana, Markos, Isabella, Abby, Brennan, Ellie and Connor and by one great great grandson Cedar. She is also survived three siblings Harriet Giberson, and Alice Stern, Harry Rumery, nieces and nephews Mark Rumery and wife Diane, Karen Cassidy and husband Kevin and Brenda Rumery.

A Service will be held in Oklahoma.
