Eleanor M. Stickles

Eleanor (McGrath) Stickles was born in Somerville, MA and attended Arlington High, Northeastern University and UMass Lowell culminating with a PHD in Polymer Chemistry.

She served as an Adjunct Professor of Chemistry at Worcester Polytechnic Institute at one time. She also worked at several industrial firms including Northrop Grumman Corporation working on missile programs for the United States Airforce.

She enjoyed skiing in Colorado and Utah, reading mysteries, and gardening, swimming and walking at her summer home on Sebago Lake, ME. She also looked forward to entertaining her friends and former NU classmates at the lake house each summer.

She is survived by her husband R. Peter Stickles of Biddeford, ME, a daughter Beverly Stickles of Newburyport, MA and a son David Stickles of Framingham, MA and two grandchildren.

There are no funeral services planned at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held after the holidays in Concord, MA where she resided for more than 45 years. Well-wisher’s can make Contributions to The Alzheimer's Association if interested.
