Obituary

Eunice Grace Savoy (Nana)

Old Orchard Beach

Eunice Grace Savoy (Nana), 93, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

She was born in Biddeford on April 27, 1928, a daughter of Earle and Edith (Johnson) Jamieson. Eunice was raised in Saco and lived in Old Orchard Beach for the past 61 years.

Experiencing the Great Depression during World War II, Eunice woke up at 5AM, walked through the deep snow, and sold her mother's baked goods to support the family. One of Eunice's favorite memories was riding the trolley cars with her father Earle, a conductor during the 19 th century. Another pastime of hers was going to the Johnson Farm, their family farm, on Pool Road in Biddeford.

Eunice was a caring and compassionate person. She pursued this passion as a CNA caring for the sick and elderly. She was employed by the Trull Nursing Home, Webber Hospital, Pine Point Manor and Elms Residence.

After retirement, Eunice pursued her other passion. She took a lot of pleasure in taking care of children in her home. Right up until the end of her life she loved taking care of three great grandsons, Parker, Blake and Landon. These three children adored her and never could get enough of her love, hugs and her delicious pancakes.

Eunice was a devoted mother. She treasured her children, grandchildren and her friends. She enjoyed every moment with them. Her presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Real Lee Savoy on November 24, 2005, by two sons Maynard Savoy and Bruce Savoy and by two sisters Laura Cook and Ruth Gould.

She is survived by three sons, Real Savoy Jr. and his partner Marsha, Larry Savoy and his wife Joan and Richard Savoy and his wife Tina Hogan and two daughters Linda Janson and her husband Ray and Judy Robinson. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, sister's Jeannette Jackson and Betty Peterson and nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11AM Sunday, October 10, 2021, at One Old Cascade Road, Old Orchard Beach, ME.  04064. A reception will follow the service.
