Garnet S. Schmersal

Garnet S. Schmersal, 70, of Falmouth and formerly of Phippsburg, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Sedgewood Commons in Falmouth.

She was born in Rumford on September 16, 1951, a daughter of Henry and Pearl (Doyen) Schmersal. She graduated from Stephen's High School in Rumford.

Garnet was employed in retail for Sears in Brunswick for 20 years, retiring in 2013.

Some of Garnet's favorite pastimes were walking Popham Beach looking for sand dollars and listening to classic country music including Kenny Rogers and Patsy Cline. She also liked to work in her flower garden putting her flowers around her home. She will be sadly missed.

She was predeceased by one son Travis Broomhall on May 1, 1988 and by one brother Henry Schmersal.

She is survived by one daughter Stephanie Owens and her wife Hillary and long time partner Robert Spicer Sr. She is also survived by six siblings Shelby Crouse and husband Steven, Tammy Schmersal – Burgess and husband Calvin, Gary Schmersal, Christopher Schmersal and wife Lydia, Eric Schmersal and wife Amy and Kevin Schmersal and wife Patty,  nieces and nephews.
