George N. Matthew Jr.

George N. Matthew Jr., 59, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away Monday, October 12, 2026, in Portland.

George was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on July 19, 1967, a son of George Matthew Sr. and Geraldine Ducharme.

George was raised in Worcester alongside his sisters and was educated in local schools. At a young age, George felt an urge to serve his country, so he enlisted in the United States Army where he served with loyalty for many years.

Later in life, George fathered two daughters and a son. His children were the light of his life, and he cherished the time he spent with them.

All who knew George would describe him as your classic Mainer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and taking in the natural beauty that Maine has to offer. He also loved riding his motorcycle down long stretches of road in his younger years. However, his favorite activity was spending time with his family. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

George was predeceased by his father, George Matthew Sr., who he lost at the young age of four years old.

George is survived by his mother: Geraldine “Gerry” Ducharme, his son: George “Nick” Matthew III and his wife Rachael, his daughters Jenna Matthew and Julia Matthew, his sisters: Sheena Matthew and Melissa Matthew, and his grandchildren: Wesley, Hazel, and Natalie.

Visiting Hours will take place from 12PM-2PM on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, Saco. A Funeral Service with military honors will take place immediately following at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, Saco.
