Biddeford
Gerard L. Belanger of Biddeford passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 4, 2021 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
He was the son of Raymond and Laura Dubois Belanger. Born in Biddeford, ME on August 23 rd , 1930, He attended St. Andre's School and worked at the Pepperell Mills, Saco Tanning, and Pratt and Whitney retiring in 1994. He was a man who enjoyed life, his family, and speaking with just about anyone. He saw every person he met as either a friend or a potential friend. He was president of the Fremont Club in Biddeford for many years.
He was predeceased by his father and mother, his first wife Jeannine and his daughter Patricia Ellis.
He is survived by his second wife, Dolores, 3 sons, Richard and wife Patty of Dayton, Norman and wife Betty of Biddeford, and Steven and his companion Debbie of Lowell, MA; and a son-in-law Douglas Ellis of Saco; 9 grandchildren, Heather LeCompte, Joshua Ellis, Christopher Belanger, Todd Belanger, Emily Carter, Alex Belanger, Anthony Belanger, Morgan Belanger and Melanie Belanger; 8 great grandchildren, Hayden, Ian, Ella, Baxter, Camden, Levi, Kashton and Sullivan; two sisters, Rita Murphy and Aline Boucher both of Biddeford, and many nieces and nephews.
Gerry is also survived by: stepson Roger and wife Patricia Martel of Saco; 3 stepdaughters, Susan Branyen and husband Gary of Berwick, Cathy Cyr and husband Marc of Biddeford, and Linda Gillis and husband Kevin of Dayton; 9 step-grandchildren, Jonathan Martel, Stephen Martel, Timothy Branyen, Rebecca Manning, Sarah Branyen, Scott Cyr, Michelle Cerroni, Samuel Gillis and Thomas Gillis; 3 step-great grandchildren; Arden, Cymbelene and Arianna.
At Gerard's request, there are no visiting hours scheduled. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church on Monday May 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. followed by an interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Biddeford.
