Hadley M. Brown Jr.

Hadley M. Brown Jr., 77, of Biddeford, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Pinnacle Health and Rehab in North Berwick.

He was born in Portland on July 31, 1946, a son of Hadley Sr. and Antonetta (Tucci) Brown. He was educated in the Portland school system and graduated from Portland High School.

Hadley was employed for several years in maintenance with the Regency Hotel. He later worked for large apartment complexes in the Portland area, and during retirement he became a part-time crossing guard.

To say that Hadley was a sports enthusiast would be an understatement.  He was a diehard New York Yankees fan, but also had a passion for anything sports related.  As a young man he tried out for a minor league baseball team in Florida. In his later years Hadley belonged to various Softball Leagues and Bowling Leagues.  He spent many hours, and made many memories at Prides Corner Bowling Alley and Yankee Lanes.

Hadley's favorite spot to visit and spend time at was Portland's Eastern Promenade.  He loved reading the newspaper and drinking coffee in his truck, walking the waterfront paths, and found the area very peaceful.

He is predeceased by his sister, Mary Brown.

He is survived by his four children, Timothy Brown and wife Hannah, Scott Brown and partner Dawn, Antonetta Brown, and Nicole Brown; by four grandchildren, Madison, Bronwen, Niaomi, and Scott Jr.; by his siblings Daniel Brown, Ronald Brown, and Betty Tingley, as well as by several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will take place in the spring.
