Hazel Harris, 95, passed away Wednesday, April 30th, 2025, at The Inn at Atlantic Heights, Saco.
Hazel was born in Portland, on December 13th, 1929, a daughter of Ernest and Ruth (Waterhouse) Bean and raised alongside her three sisters.
Hazel was educated at Cape Elizabeth High School and later went to Providence Bible Institute in Providence, Rhode Island.
Hazel met her husband John H. Harris and married on September 16th, 1950. After getting married, Hazel raised their four sons and four daughters as a homemaker for twenty years.
Hazel was a member of the Bible Baptist Church (Saco Bay Community Church) for 60 years. She served as a pianist, Sunday school teacher as well as many women's ministries, and was loved by all she came into contact with.
After the children were old enough, she worked as a home health aide for Visiting Nurse Services for twenty years before retiring.
Hazel was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting. She enjoyed traveling and going for long rides with her husband John. They enjoyed each other's company. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be sincerely missed.
Hazel was predeceased by her husband John Harris, her sons Jonathan Harris and David Harris, her three sisters: Elaine Bean, Gertrude Ham, and June Moffett, and two grandchildren.
Hazel is survived by her four daughters: Ruth Leon and husband Peter, Margaret Voccia and husband Charles, Judith Ahlquist and husband Carl, and Karen Judd and husband Barry, her two sons: Peter Harris, and Jeffrey Harris and wife Jayne. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Marie Harris, and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at the Inn at Atlantic Heights as well as the Compassus Hospice team at The Inn at Atlantic Heights, Saco.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, May 3rd, 2PM-4PM at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, Saco. A church service will be held on Sunday, May 4th, 2PM at Saco Bay Community Church, Saco.
