Obituary

Henry P. Cantara

Lyman

Henry Peter Cantara, 59, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at his home in Lyman.

He was born on May 20, 1965, a son of Conrad Cantara and Alice (Lachance) Cantara, and raised in Biddeford alongside his brother, Ron Cantara, and his sister, Linda Cantara.

He was educated at Biddeford High School and immediately started working after graduating in 1984. Henry was a hard worker who spent a lot of time proving his dedication to any job he took on. Many knew him as a workaholic who enjoyed keeping busy.

He would often take one of his many motorcycles to work using any excuse to go for a ride. He was known as a free spirit and man of the road. His great love of motorcycles led him to many miles of sunshine. When he wasn't on his motorcycle, in his spare time, he could be found playing video games. He was especially skilled at first-person-shooters and put many hours into playing.

He also had a great love of animals, his family dog, Cowboy, had a warm place in his heart. But above all, his favorite thing to do was to spend time with his family and friends. Many special memories were made that the family will hold on to and cherish forever. He will be sadly missed by many.

On December 23rd, 2023, Henry married the love of his life, Linda Ann Dion and together they built a life centered around love and family.

Henry was predeceased by his mother, Alice Maria (Lachance) Cantara, and his father, Conrad U. Cantara.

Henry is survived by his wife Linda Ann Cantara, his two daughters Katrina Samson, and Amanda Omara and her husband Mohammed, his stepdaughter Tory Bishop, and his stepson Patrick Dion. He is also survived by his brother Ron Cantara and fiancée Carol Smith, his sister Linda Cantara and wife Donna Cantara, two brothers-in-law Raymond Dion Jr. and Robert Dion, and one sister-in-law Trisha Main; as well as his nieces Brittney Main and Sarah Dion, his nephews Ronald Cantara Jr., Gauge Cantara, Jared Dion, Justin Dion, and Austin Main and close friends Lee Kimball and Jhon Kimball, and several grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12PM – 4PM, Saturday March 8, 2025, at The Biddeford Eagles Aerie 804, 57 Birch St, Biddeford. A graveside service will be held in the spring.
