Old Orchard Beach

Homer F. Grant, 97, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away on Wednesday November 17, 2021, at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.

He was born in Cherryfield Maine on March 18, 1924, a son of Harland and Mary Jane (Morse) Grant and was educated from Cherryfield schools.

Homer was an avid outdoorsman. He thoroughly enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.  He served in the Army during WWII. Homer retired after 40 years of work as a rigger at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Due to his natural motivation to keep busy, he worked for: Maremont, as a Saco School Crossing Guard and a custodian at the Dayton Consolidated School, until truly retiring at the age of 96.

Predeceased by the love of his life, Jeannette, 7 siblings, daughter-in-law, Jackie Grant and son-in-law, Raymond Janelle. He is survived by his current wife, Joanne, Children: Nancy Labrecque and Leo, Maurice Grant, Beatrice Janelle and Katie Valladares. Along with 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 3 great, great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
