Obituary

Jacqueline "Jackie" Paquette

Biddeford

On June 7, 2024 Jacqueline Rita Paquette died unexpectedly after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving husband and sons.

She was born on April 30, 1947 the daughter of Aime and Rose (Duclos) Labbe. She grew up in Biddeford and attended parochial schools with her siblings. In 1969, she met the love of her life, Richard Paquette, and they were married two years later. They welcomed two sons into the world, Brian in 1972 and Jeffrey in 1978. Their marriage spanned over fifty years of inseparable connection and love. They enjoyed countless excursions, walks, and meals together. She even kept a diary of her meals, including a french fry rating system.

Jackie was a busy active parent who loved raising her boys and attending all their activities. She joked once that her car was filled with every article of clothing she might need for a day on the baseball field - from sunscreen to an umbrella to a winter coat. She always put them first; there was never a big or small event that was missed.

Jackie was employed in various industries. In her earlier years she worked at Murphy's Music Store, Nichol's Department Store and for Dr. Roberts. She later was employed by MetLife and spent over 20 years for Catholic Charities of Maine.

Later in her life, both sons brought the joys of her life into the world which were her grandchildren - Ben (15), Audrey (13), Emma (10) and Lorelai (7). She and Richard were Memere and Pepere to their grandchildren. She brought the same level of presence to these children that she gave to raising her sons. From karate to track to soccer to unicycling events, she was always there. She loved her family, including her animals, and in her final days she experienced great joy in time with them and getting to go home to see her cat, Bootsie for a brief time. She was a devoted Catholic and she showed strong faith even as she learned of her illness. She was a completely unselfish person who always put her loved ones first and wanted to know that they were cared for and happy after her departure from this earth.

Jackie was predeceased by her parents and by one brother Leo Labbe.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard, her sons Brian Paquette and wife Heather, Jeff Paquette and wife Amanda and four grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Roger Labbe and wife Louise, Norman Labbe and wife Nancy, Dot Bouffard and husband Roger, Vivian Demers and Paul Labbe, nieces and nephews.
