James E. Candela

Old Orchard Beach

James E. Candela, 64, of Old Orchard Beach and Norfolk, Massachusetts, passed away late Monday evening on December 15, 2025 in Scarborough.

He was born in Milford, Massachusetts on April 24, 1961, a son of Julius and Jean (Macdonald) Candela. Jimmy graduated from King Philip High School in Wrentham, Massachusetts, class of 1979.

Jimmy worked in various industries after high school. In 1999, he married his wife Sandra Stiles and began a new chapter in life and moved in another industry. He was warehouse manager for Stiles Company in Norwood, Massachusetts, a position he handled for 25 years.

Jimmy had many favorite pastimes. He loved to cook. The family remembers his homemade tomato sauce and famous meatballs, just to name a few of his specialties. He also had a green thumb and a large garden. Jimmy always had something fresh for the family and items to can for the winter. Sports also had a special place, Patriots, Red Sox and Bruin games were his favorites.

James and Sandra enjoyed many years in Old Orchard Beach and at their beach house they bought together in 2011. Many memories were made with family and friends.

He will be remembered for his distinguished laugh, his smile and his ability to make friends in the neighborhood. He will be sadly missed by many.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Stiles, two sons Dillon and Parker and siblings Sharon Hickey and husband Edward and Doug Candela and wife Lindy. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
