Update - Celebration of Life - July 1st -

James A Metzger Jr.  AKA "Scott" Metzger survived his parents James A Metzger Sr, and Mary Wells Metzger as well as his siblings Jim and Dean.  Scott was a Mainer through and through, living his adulthood living in various locations around his beloved state of Maine.

Born in Oakland California, he spent his earlier years of childhood growing up in Georgia, before attending school in Saco, Thornton Academy and St Francis College where his lifelong friendships were deeply rooted.

Scott was an accomplished surfer in his youth earning the name "Daytona".  Daytona competed in competitions up and down the east coast and even brought him to California.  His love of the ocean turned into a lifetime passion for being around the sea where he lived and spent lots of time on his boats, and ocean sailing with his friends.  Other hobbies that he was passionate about were traveling, history, antique shopping, storytelling (with or without good jokes), politics ("his favorite sport") and learning about his ancestry.

Scott spent the majority of his career in real estate, starting out by building homes, developing real estate projects and eventually selling homes as a broker/agent.

James "Scott" Metzger is survived by his sister Joan, sons Chad and Casey Metzger, and his grandchildren Annabelle, Drew, Ty, Jake and Weston Metzger.  Daughter in-laws Tara and Heather Metzger, as well as his loving and caring girlfriend of years, Sieglinde "Siggy" Espe whom brought such joy and love to his life.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 4-7PM at River Winds Farm and Estate, 121 Louden Road, Saco, Maine.  For the venue website click here: https://www.riverwindsfarmandestate.com/
