Saco

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James R. Sargent, 75, of Saco, on October 11th, 2025.

Jim died peacefully at home with his puppy, Misty, by his side. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Jim was born on May 15th, 1950, in Lewiston, Maine. Jim graduated from Spaulding High School in 1969 in Rochester, New Hampshire.

Big Jim was the beloved husband of Linda, and they just celebrated 56 years of marriage on September 13th. Jim and Linda were high school sweethearts and met at Camp Sebago in 1967. They loved to vacation in Hawaii as this was a special place for them. They spent time in Hawaii with OHANA (Family).

Jim had a lot of love for his dogs Chloe, Otis, and new puppy Misty. His favorite food was lobster which he had a great passion for! Jim loved hunting, fishing, camping, and working on his corvette with his son Jimmy. He had just successively hunted a very large bear and was about to go on a moose hunt with his hunting buddy, Billy Jordan.

Throughout his life, Jim owned his own custom home building business, was a volunteer firefighter for North Saco Fire Department, and was a member of the North Saco Pathfinders Snowmobile Club.

Jim's passion for homebuilding led him to build one of the largest homes in Saco for the Remmes Family. Jim worked for them for many years and considered them part of his family.

Jim is survived by his loving wife Linda, his son Jimmy and wife Kelly of Saco, ME. Daughter Heidi Mains and husband Jeff of Port St. Lucie, FL. Brother Maynard and wife Kathy of Washington State. Sister Darlene and husband Bubba of North Conway, NH. He was also a proud grandfather to Logan of New York City, NY, Lexi of Dayton, ME, Brooke of Melbourne, Australia, and Tori of Saco, ME.

Big Jim will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
