Obituary

Jason P. Marcoux

Jason P. Marcoux, aged 49, formerly of Saco, passed away on Thanksgiving evening in 2022 due to complications from diabetes. He was born in Saco, Maine, on April 26, 1974, the son of Rita A. Boucher and Robert Marcoux.

Jason received his education in the Saco school system. On August 17, 1977, his mother married her beloved husband, Silvio Boucher, and they embraced the roles of parents to Jason, Brian, and Louanne.

As a young boy, Jason was known for his quiet nature and a special bond he shared with his maternal grandfather, Lionel Bernier Sr.  He was the center of his grandfather's world.

As an adult, Jason spread his wings and ventured to various places, living in Florida, California, and eventually settling in Denver, Colorado. He worked in security for several establishments, including Atomic Cowboy in 2011, the Ritz-Carlton Denver in 2013, and most recently at the Sheraton Denver Downtown as a Loss Prevention Officer.

Jason had a passion for travel and enjoyed going on Flogging Molly cruises with his friends. Utilizing his security background, he had the opportunity to attend many concerts and meet various celebrities, such as Celine Dion, Bon Jovi, and even sharing an elevator with Tom Brady.

He was a skilled pool and billiards player and loved playing cribbage with his grandfather and Stacey when he visited Saco.

Jason was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Rita and Silvio Boucher, his father Robert, his grandmother Connie Bernier, uncles Lionel, Jr. and Paul R. Bernier. Most recently, his beloved grandfather, Lionel Bernier Sr., passed away on October 21, 2023.

He is survived by his brother Brian, sister Louanne, nephews Cooper and Maxwell Boucher, August (Gus) Schoninger, and several cousins, including Stacey and David Bernier, Laura Bernier, John and Danny Bernier.

Jason will be laid to rest alongside his grandfather, Lionel J. Bernier Sr., at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Biddeford, Maine.
