Jean "Rene" Allie, 91, of Ocean Park, and formerly of Saco, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Seal Rock Healthcare in Saco.

He was born in Biddeford on June 14, 1932, a son of Albert and Marie Ann (Morin) Allie.

Rene graduated from St. Louis High School where he lettered in basketball.

After school he married Claire Bernier and they began their family and had four children. Rene served in the United States Reserves as a supply sergeant for 12 years.

Rene started his career working for his father Albert Allie Construction and also for his brother Raymond Allie Construction before going out on his own. Rene owned and operated Rene A. Allie Construction for many years. He was well known for his craftsmanship and cabinet making. He worked on various projects throughout the community, including the Saco & Biddeford Savings Bank, Most Holy Trinity Church, Westpoint Pepperell and many homes in southern Maine. Retiring in the late 1990's, he moved to Florida and worked at Ace Hardware sharing his master building skills with others.  He returned to the Southern Maine area about eight years ago

He was an avid sports fan following the Boston Red Sox throughout the years.

He was predeceased by his wife Claire Bernier Allie on February 25, 2020 and by 12 siblings.

He is survived by four children; Michelle Leclerc and husband Daniel, Albert Allie, David Allie and Danielle Allie. He is also survived by six grandchildren Sarah, Jessica, Jaime-Lyn, Kristy, Adric and Dorothy and three great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
