Jeanne D. Poisson

Old Orchard Beach

Jeanne D. Poisson passed away Friday, February 28, 2025.

She was born in Biddeford, Maine, on August 27, 1938 to Albert and Simonne (Bourassa) Geaumont. Jeanne grew up and was educated in Old Orchard Beach. It was while out with girlfriends    roller skating that she met her future husband. On June 7, 1958, she married the love of her life Roger A. Poisson.

Jeanne worked in manufacturing when such jobs were plentiful. Jean retired in her early fifties to care for her grandchildren and become Nana. Eventually winters began to be too cold leading to 25 years of wintering in Bonita Springs, Florida with her husband Roger. This offered family the perfect winter get away to visit Nana. The family created many wonderful memories together that they will hold on to and cherish forever. Jeanne will be sadly missed.

Jeanne enjoyed the beach, family visits, wintering in Florida, crafting, being a member of the Red Hats, and her precious moments with her grandchildren and great grandson.

Jeanne is predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Roger and three siblings, Eugene Geaumont, Anita Rogers, and Donald Geaumont.

She is survived by her two children Dennis R. Poisson and wife Dawn and Debra J. McPherson and her husband Michael, six grandchildren, Justin, Henry, Jason, Emily, Jeremy and wife Abby, and Jennie, and one great grandchild, Carter who she referred to as "her little pumpkin." Jeanne is also survived by her brother Arthur Geaumont and her sister Cecile Champagne and several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held in the spring. Time to be announced.
