Jeannine C. Woodman passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, while in the exceptional care of Hospice of Southern Maine, at her home in Old Orchard Beach surrounded by her family members who cherished her.

Jeannine was born in Biddeford, Maine on November 23, 1942, the eldest daughter of Lina and Roland Chenard. She attended high schools in Biddeford, Maine and Andover, MA before graduating from Thornton Academy in Saco, Maine. It was at Thornton Academy where she met the love of her life, Harmon Woodman. After high school, she attended Westbrook College and earned an Associate's Degree in Business Administration.

Jeannine and Harmon married in 1963, and their marriage endured for 61 years. She lovingly raised four children: Lisa, Todd, Robyn and Jason. They purchased a 1750's Cape Cod home on 60 acres in Buxton, Maine and she worked incessantly to renovate, to decorate, to create a warm, welcoming home environment for her family and friends.

Early in her career, Jeannine was employed at Pratt and Whitney in CT while Harmon was at UConn – Storrs campus studying Physical Therapy. She spent most of her career in Maine working in the Superintendent's Office as an Administrative Secretary for the Reading Director/Assistant Superintendent of schools at SAD #6: Buxton, Hollis, Limington and Standish. Jeannine was a beloved team member, known for her exemplary work ethic.

A valued member of the Francina Club in North Saco and Buxton, Jeannine was involved for many years with church activities: the Women's Club, the Choir and the Annual Church Fair. She taught catechism at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco. She enjoyed cooking and trying out new recipes, and with wonderful friends, she created a "Gourmet Club" with three other couples. Several times a year, they gathered for elaborate meals based on a theme and a country: Chinese, Thai, Hawaiian, Spanish.

Her family remembers Jeannine for her essence of strength, grace, kindness, love and family loyalty. She had a life-long love for nature; she enjoyed watching for hummingbirds and butterflies at the feeders in her beautiful yard. Her siblings remember her attentive care as they were growing up. She seldom complained, always had a positive word and enjoyed spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren: playing Uno and War; taking them to ice cream outings and apple-picking adventures; frolicking with them at Fortune's Rocks Beach and the Farm on the Simpson Road. Children were drawn to her, and she loved each of them in return. She had even wanted to be a schoolteacher.

She had a gift for making people feel at ease and cared for, creating wonderful memories for her friends and family at every holiday. She would creatively decorate her home and share her talent for cooking and baking, carefully curating each holiday table. When anyone reached out with a gift of food, she would never return the dish empty. She would fill the dish with a Thank You note and chocolates. For Jeannine, traditions were crucial to carry on. For more than thirty years, she celebrated at Christmas Prelude in Kennebunkport with her daughters, daughters in law, granddaughters and friends of the family. For each family member's birthday, Jeannine lovingly prepared her husband's and children's chosen meal and favorite cake. She never missed recognizing a birthday, wedding anniversary, special occasion, thank you with a card or a note in her beautiful cursive handwriting. Her Catholic Faith was deeply important to her and gave her great comfort throughout her life, especially as she faced cancer with humility, bravery, and resilience. She had a gentle wit, a sweet smile and loved to laugh while watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Her quiet competitive streak came through in the way she challenged her grandchildren at Uno, Skip-Bo, and Go Fish.

Jeannine is predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Harmon Woodman, who passed away in July of 2025, and Jason Woodman, her son, in November of 2013.  She is survived by her three children: Lisa Woodman and her partner, Mercy Carbonell; Todd Woodman and his partner, Becky Hoosier; Todd's children: Nicholas Woodman, Victoria Woodman, Jacob Woodman and his wife Sarah Woodman; Becky's children: Daniel Hoosier, Emily Hoosier, Anthony Antonucci and his wife, Melynda Antonucci and their daughter, Maggie Antonucci; Jeannine and Harmon's daughter, Robyn Woodman and her husband, Edward Resnisky; Jeannine's siblings: Ronald Chenard and his wife, Leanne Chenard; Ronald's son, Chentston Chenard; Leanne's children, Corey Fravert, wife, Andrea Fravert and their children, Brennan Fravert, Delia Fravert and Evan Fravert; Leanne's daughter, Carrie Jowett, Carrie's children: Elle Jowett and Dawson Jowett; Jeannine's sister, Carol Lombard, her husband, Russell Lombard; their daughter and Jeannine's goddaughter, Wendy Lombard; Jeannine's sister, Dyan Anastasoff, her children: Sasha Anastasoff, her son, Kaiden Corbett and daughter, Nia Corbett; Dyan's son, Alex Anastasoff and wife, Betsy Anastasoff, their children, Peter Anastasoff and Nicholas Anastasoff;  Jeannine's sister, Lynn Verrill, and husband, Tom Verrill and their children: Will Verrill and his wife, Christine Verrill, daughter, Addy Verrill; Jay Verrill and his wife, Kristine Verrill and their daughter, Sophia Verrill; Jeannine's brother, Roger Chenard and his wife, Jody Powers and daughters: Rebecca Chenard and Rachel Chenard. Jeannine also leaves many close relatives on her husband, Harmon's side, and a large, extended French Canadian family.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco, Maine on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 11 am. Graveside Prayers at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco will be open to the public after the Funeral Mass. Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home of Saco, Maine.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Fall for Harmon and Jeannine; details to be announced.
