Jerome Wittfoth

Biddeford

Jerome Wittfoth, 82, of Biddeford, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023, at The Landing at Saco Bay in Saco.

He was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on June 29, 1941, a son of Niles and Jessie (Saunders) Wittfoth. Upon graduating high school Jerome enlisted in the United States Army, where he served as an Aircraft Engine Mechanic.  After the service he worked as a freight and airline pilot for Airborne Express and Eastern Airlines.

Jerome married June Belanger in 1981 and the couple moved to Waynesville, Ohio.  In 1989 they relocated to Lithonia, GA, and in 2002, they moved to New England and finally settled in Biddeford, Maine to be closer to June's son, John, wife Deborah, his two grandchildren and their families, Rhiannon Rossi, her husband Scott, daughter Marisa, son Tyler and his other grandchild Steven and his family wife Lory, his daughters Aliyah and Lilliana.

Jerome had a number of interesting hobbies.  He enjoyed any type of yard work that allowed him to use big power equipment, woodworking, skiing, scuba diving, going to the shooting range, traveling, and reading western books.

Jerome was predeceased by his wife June Wittfoth who passed on November 30, 2022, by his older brother Dennis Wittfoth, and by his older sister Julie Wittfoth Robinson.

He is survived by his sister Joy Wittfoth Michelson.

Services are private. Burial will take place in Illinois.  Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.
