Jessica J. Helstrom, 42, of Saco, passed away after a long battle with Lupus on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Southern Maine Health Care.

She was born in Presque Isle on January 26, 1979, a daughter of Jim R. Helstrom and Valdine L. (Pelletier) Camire. She graduated from Caribou High School, class of 1998.

Jessica was employed by Cary Medical Center for several years. After high school she moved to Southern Maine. She studied Psychology at the University of Southern Maine. She worked as a child care caregiver and also for Kevin's Electric.

Jessica studied the meditation technique of Reiki. This Japanese technique is for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Jessica practiced this natural and safe method of healing which promotes harmony with others.

Jessica had many interesting hobbies. Her creative side inspired her to write a book. She was the author of "Lupus Fighting the Dying Mind". She also composed the song "So Beautiful", which she wrote the lyrics, sang the vocals and created the melody. Jessica's words in her book and songs are even more precious to us now.

She will be sadly missed by many.

Jessica also liked modeling, had a great love of animals and arts and crafts. She was interested in anything involving Marilyn Monroe, wolves and the Eiffel Tower.

She is survived by her son Ian Lau, her mother Valdine Camire, her father Jim Helstrom and her brother Jenner Helstrom and wife Brandi. She is also survived by her grandparents Ruby Pelletier and Russell Helstrom, one niece Harlan, aunts, uncles, many cousins and special dog Rusty.
