John E. Mahoney, 63, of Saco, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, June 26, 2023.

He was born in Woburn, Massachusetts on February 9, 1960, a son of Edward and Catherine (Burke) Mahoney. John was educated in the East Boston School System, and graduated from Winchester High School. About 20 years ago he relocated to Maine, first living in the Portland area, then later in Saco.

John had a passion for the outdoors, and for any activity that would allow him to spend time outside.  He enjoyed being with his friends and sharing many laughs with them.   For all the things John valued and considered precious, there was nothing he cherished more than his daughter Kaitlyn, and his granddaughter Aria. He will be sadly missed.

He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Catherine Mahoney, and his two brothers, Thomas E. Mahoney and Robert Mahoney.

He is survived by his daughter Caitlyn Mahoney and her daughter Aria, eight siblings: Maureen Kearns, Theresa Lamontagne, Joseph Mahoney, Edward Mahoney, Paul Mahoney, Catherine Lagassey, Patricia Mahoney, and Michelle Miller, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Monday, July 31, 2023, at St. Joseph's Church in Biddeford.
