John F. Rivers

John F. Rivers, 62, of Standish, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at his home.

He was born in Bangor on June 26, 1961, a son of Raymond and Gladys (Paul) Rivers. He grew up in the Bangor area and graduated from Bangor High School.

John went to work as a pharmacy assistant while taking college classes in Health Care.  Soon, an opportunity arose for John to be self-employed, so he started his own Taxi business which was based in Bangor.  Later he became a truck driver and drove local, regional, and long haul for major companies like Sysco Foods and Hartt Transportation.

Some of John's passions were hunting, deep sea fishing and spending time at his cousin Lloyd's camp in Lincoln.  He also cared greatly for his dog "Bubbish", who he took along wherever he would go.

John was a member of the Penobscot Nation.

John is predeceased by his parents, and by his three brothers, Peter, Michael and Tony.

He is survived by two daughters, by his brother Christopher, by his sister Pam, as well as by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
