Obituary

Joseph D. Cote

Saco

Joe D. Cote, 40, of Saco, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 29, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Joe was born in Portland on March 16, 1981, a son of Don and Linda (Plante) Porter.  He was educated in the Waterboro school system, and graduated from  Massabesic High School, class of 1999.  On November 12, 2010 he married the love of his life, Katie St. Hilaire, at one of their favorite vacations spots on a beautiful beach in Cancun, Mexico with their closest friends and family in attendance.

Joe and Katie began their life together in Lewiston where they began to raise three wonderful boys; Tyler, Ryan and Evan.  Five years ago Joe and Katie built their dream home in Saco where they would have enough room to spend as much time together as a family.

Joe was employed as Director of Sales for Max Finklestein Inc.  He had an incredible work ethic, unmatched energy, and mastery of his industry where he became an amazing leader to his team.  He traveled regularly for work, visiting customers across the country. His confident approach to business, his entertaining personality, his giant smile always left a positive and memorable experience to those that met him. Joe was a brand of his own and left an everlasting impression wherever he traveled.  Those that were lucky enough to meet Joe trusted and loved him.

Joe's successes at work enabled him to enjoy his favorite pastime, traveling with his wife and children.  Whether it was the beaches of Mexico, islands of the Caribbean or visiting European countries, Joe and Katie would pick a destination and successfully organize energetic family journeys several times a year.  Joe's passion for travel with his wife and children created endless memories that will live on forever.

Joe had an incredible drive to enjoy life to its fullest, a passion for success and most of all an endless love for Katie and the boys.  Joe left an unforgettable impression on anyone he met and his smile, his humor, his larger than life presence will live on forever in all of our memories.

Joe was an amazing father, incredible husband, great friend, inspirational boss and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Joe is survived by his wife Katie Cote; his three sons, Tyler Cote, Ryan Cote and Evan Cote; his parents, Donald and Linda Porter; brother Josh Porter and wife Keri; sister Tabetha Porter; his grandmother Ella Plante; and many nieces and nephews.
