Julie Kerry Collins, 65, of Saco, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Julie was born in Biddeford, Maine on March 27, 1959, the daughter of Paul and Barbara (Cote) Kerry.  She grew up in Saco and at a very young age she learned the value of hard work and the meaning of family.  Julie graduated from Thornton Academy, class of 1977, and went on to study business at Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts.  After college Julie returned to Maine to work for the family business at The Kerryman Pub.

Julie met the love of her life, Dennis Collins, in the early 1990's, and they were married on March 27, 1993.  Julie then left the family business, the new couple moved to Las Vegas, NV.  For 20 years Julie was employed at the Long Horn Casino.  In 2012 Julie and Dennis came back to Maine, and she went to work at the Biddeford-Saco Elks Lodge where she served as bartender, and she coordinated all the lodge hall contracts.

There were many things that Julie enjoyed doing in her pastime, but some of the more notable ones were following the Boston sports teams, especially the New England Patriots.  She enjoyed watching the television series 'Law and Order', as well as the sitcom 'Two and a Half Men'. She was an animal lover, and she took pleasure in simply watching the birds in her yard.

Of all the things Julie valued and considered precious, there was nothing she cherished more than family.  Wonderful memories were made around the dinner table, where conversation would flow and family bonds were strengthened.  She will be sadly missed.

Julie was predeceased by her father Paul Kerry.

She is survived by her husband Dennis Collins; by her mother Barbara Kerry; by her brother Michael Kerry; by one nephew Patrick Kerry; as well as by several aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends.

Funeral Services are private.

A celebration of Julie's life will take place at 12 noon on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the Biddeford-Saco Elks Lodge, Saco.
