Ladd Campbell Huff, 78, of Biddeford, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 19th, 2025.

Ladd was born on November 14th, 1946, in Portland, a son of Irving Huff and Barbara (Campbell) Huff.

As a young man, Ladd had a love for animals, often volunteering at a horse farm and spending time in nature. He also enjoyed listening to music, especially classic rock.

At only seventeen years old, Ladd felt a call to fight and protect his county. So, he enlisted in the United States Army where he earned many awards for his service. Those accomplishments included: the Parachutist Badge, two Overseas Service Bars, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Marksman Badge. Ladd was proud to be a combat veteran, and his remarkable performance earned him much respect.

After being discharged, he spent some time in Vermont where he opened and ran a bar for many years until he moved to Westbrook, Maine, and eventually took care of his mom in her final years.

Ladd was an enterprising man who used his knowledge to become a commodity dealer and was very good in finding and selling valuable items. Ladd had many other careers as well including working as the security guard and groundskeeper for the Dallaire's Motel and Cottages in Biddeford.

Ladd had many interests including shooting his guns, indulging in fast food, and giving into his sugar cravings, mostly to keep up his sweet personality. He enjoyed listening to a wide range of musical artists such as Tupac, Biggie, Motley Crew, and Imagine Dragons. One of his favorite things was his truck, which he took great care of.

Ladd was known by many as a kind and selfless man; always thinking of others before himself. He was known to be quite a jokester with people he felt comfortable with. He was also known to be a flirt with the ladies in his life. Ladd will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A Graveside Service with military honors will be held on Friday, November 7th at 1PM at Southern Maine Veterans' Cemetery, 83 Stanley Rd, Springvale, ME 04083.
