Lee Philip Desrochers, 75, of Kennebunkport, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He was born in Portland, Maine on May 10, 1949, a son of Albert P. Desrochers Jr. and Ruth (McKenney) Desrochers.  Lee grew up in Saco and graduated from Thornton Academy, class of 1967.  He then enlisted in the United States Navy and faithfully served our country until he was honorably discharged in 1972.  Lee went to work for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, working in their engineering department and taking on various assignments at other Naval Shipyards throughout the US.  It was during this time, while stationed at Groton Submarine Base in Connecticut, that he met the love of his life, Delphine Cirillo.  The two were married on May 10, 1987 and settled in Saco.  They later made their home in Kennebunkport, a place where Lee enjoyed gardening, working outside, and raising chickens in the barn he constructed.

In addition to the hobbies that gave Lee so much satisfaction at home, he can truly be remembered as an avid and passionate outdoorsman.  He loved camping, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing, and often took trips to northern Maine to fish with his brother Barry.  Lee and Delphine also had the good fortune of traveling throughout the US and abroad, visiting Aruba, the Mayan Riviera, Arizona, New York, and Woodstock Vermont.  Lee was a talented artist, creating carvings and paintings that his family will cherish for many generations.  He was also an antique car enthusiast, and was always so proud to take a drive in his anniversary edition 1978 Corvette.

Most of all he loved his family and the time they spent together, especially the time he shared with his grandchildren.  He will be sadly missed by many.

Lee was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Ruth Desrochers, and by his sister, Debra Desrochers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Delphine Desrochers; by his son, Jeffrey Desrochers Sr.; by his step-daughter, Karen Perry and husband Todd; by his brother, Barry Desrochers and wife Valerie; by two grandchildren, Jeffrey Desrochers Jr., and Maria Shyner and husband Joe; by four great-grandchildren, Kylee, Mason, Kennedy and Evan; as well as by 3 nephews together with their wives and children all of whom he adored.

Visitation will be from 10:00am to 11:30am, with a funeral service beginning at 11:30am on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, Saco, Maine.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
