Leona Desautels Compagna – passed away on November 19, 2024 at the age of 94 following a brief illness. Leona was surrounded by her family in her final weeks.

Born in Biddeford, Maine, July 6, 1930, daughter of Leo and Eva Loiselle Desautels and wife of Gerard Compagna. Leona attended St. Andre's Parochial School and Church where she was a parishioner before moving to Saco and becoming a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes Parish. Most recently, Leona made her residence at Ashton Gardens in Portland.

Leona enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family. She also worked in retail for many years while living in Saco. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and making new friends in addition to crafting including quilting, sewing, knitting, and jewelry making. She cherished her numerous trips to Fenway Park with her son, Andy, and loved dancing with her husband, Jerry, of 60 years.

Leona and Gerard (Jerry) Compagna were married in 1951 at St. Andre's Church in Biddeford.

Leona was predeceased by her parents, husband Jerry, and her three older sisters Doris Shaw, Florence Desrochers, and Patricia Marcotte.

She is survived by her children Elizabeth Dudley, Patricia Stickney, Andre, Daniel, and Peter, as well as Elizabeth's husband Lynton, and son Christopher, Daniel's wife Valerie and three children, Brandie, Rane, and Chase, and Peter's wife Lisa.

Visiting Hours will be from 9AM – 11AM Saturday, May 31st, 2025, followed by a Funeral Service at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James Street, Saco. A Graveside Service will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco, following the funeral service.

There will be a luncheon following the Graveside Service at Blue Elephant, 265 North St., Saco.
