Obituary

Linda A. Cyr

Saco

Linda Anne Cyr passed away Monday afternoon, January 27th at home in Saco Maine. Devoted wife of Michael A. Cyr; and the loving mother of Cheri A. Goulet-Cyr and her husband Michael Goulet, of Texas and Christopher M. Cyr and his wife Wendy of Massachusetts.

Linda was born in Sanford on November 6, 1945. She lived in Sanford with her parents André and Marie Pelletier and sisters Nancy and Gloria.  While growing up, Linda cared extensively for her mother who was afflicted with Multiple Sclerosis, showing at an early age how dedicated and caring she would be for the rest of her life.

After graduating Sanford High School in 1964, Linda worked for Davidson Rubber in a mechanical testing laboratory in Dover, NH for 10 years. After the family moved to Pennsylvania she took time as a stay at home mom and then worked as an administrative assistant for Mike's steel casting company.

After returning to Maine, Linda worked for 30+ years in real estate as an administrator in Saco, starting with Mark Stimson real estate, followed by DeWolfe, with the latest being the office administrator for Coldwell Banker in Saco, before retiring in 2019. Linda was widely popular at work and known for her hard work, great sense of humor, and positive attitude.

In her free time, Linda enjoyed reading mystery novels, sitting on the beach eating lunch and taking walks.

She married Michael Cyr in 1967 in Sanford. Linda and Mike raised two children, Cheri and Christopher, while living in New Hampshire and Pennsylvania, before returning to Maine in 1987.

She absolutely adored (and spoiled) her 7 grandchildren: Nathan (28), Emily (25), Sara (23), Abigail (22), Eleanor (21), Julia (17), and Brandon (7) and great granddaughter Quinn (2).

Linda loved visiting her children and grandchildren in Texas and Massachusetts and was never happier than when everyone was staying with her in Saco every summer. She was deeply loved by her children and grandchildren. Linda could always be counted on for cheering loudly at all of her children's and grandchildren's sporting events and was incredibly supportive of their many endeavors.

She will be deeply missed by her many family and friends.
