Linda Mae Grant

Linda Mae Grant passed away peacefully at the Gosnell House in Scarborough on September 15, 2026. Linda battled with kidney disease brought on by her diabetes for many years.

Linda worked at UNUM in South Portland for many years. In her later years, she worked part time at Kohls in Westbrook and as a foster grandparent at the local schools. She loved her role as a foster and enjoyed being able to read storybooks to the children.

Linda was born in Portland, Maine, on March 24, 1955. She was raised by her village of relatives as her mother, Alvera Hazel Nelson (Gladu), passed while she was only three, and her father, Raymond J. Galdu, passed away in her teen years. She spent her young years with her aunts and uncles and went to various schools and graduated from Boothbay High School. Linda spent her last year and a half at Pine Point Nursing Home where she became close friends with many of the residents. Linda loved the color pink and shiny, glittery things and that was evident by her blankets and arts and crafts displayed in her room at Pine Point.

Linda is predeceased by her siblings, Ronald Gladu, Joeseph Gladu, John Gladu, Joyce Arsenault, and Marie Trott.

Surviving her are her sister Justina Eraso of Orlando, FL and brother Mark Rollins of Sorrento, FL. She is also survived by her two sons Brandon and Glenn Grant.
