Lucille Ann (Lemay) Crawford, 72, passed away Thursday morning, February 27th in Saco Maine.

Lucille was born in Rumford, Maine on July 23, 1952, a daughter of Alfred and Margaret (Soucy) Lemay.  She grew up alongside two sisters, Paula and Gloriette. As a child, Lucille attended Catholic School, followed by her high school years at Rumford High School. She grew up enjoying ice skating and hanging out with friends, she participated in school plays, and enjoyed working in the school office.

Lucille met the love of her life John Crawford and they married on August 29th, 1970. They settled in Dixfield, ME with the purchase of their home in July of 1972. There they raised their two girls Trisha and Alison, and went on to live there for 50 years. While her husband worked in the local paper mill, Lucille took pride in being a "spotless" homemaker and cooked for family, friends, and those in need of a delicious homecooked meal. She loved attending the activities of her daughters and her grandchildren. She showed up, cheered, volunteered, and was known for cheering on other kids whose parents could not attend events. She went to the drag races to watch her husband race, enjoyed going to car shows, and even got to own a 1939 Buick to enjoy taking scenic cruises in. She enjoyed arranging family day trips, making a picnic lunch, and adventuring throughout Western Maine and the White Mountains in NH. After spending many years camping throughout the state of Maine, her family settled in at Dummer's Beach in Weld, ME and spent nearly 20 years at Waterfront #6 Campsite enjoying beautiful sunsets and campfires! Some of Lucille's favorite memories were spent with family at her sister Paula's camp at Roxbury Pond, ME for over 50 years.

Lucille was known best for her sense of humor, love of shopping and Yard Sales earning her the title from her husband "Good Deal Lucille," singing her favorite song "Love Shack," and for her potato salad! Lucille's last few years were lived at The Inn at Atlantic Heights in Saco, ME. It was there, after losing so many of her closest friends and family, that life was breathed back in to Lucille, and she became part of another small community similar to the one she was raised in as a child. While there, Lucille made many new friends, including their amazing staff. She especially enjoyed the singalongs with Rob, getting to meet "Elvis," and celebrating holidays & special events with her friends and family.

Lucille is survived by her sister Paula with her husband George, daughters Trisha with her husband Bob; and Alison with her husband Jeremy, grandchildren Tyler, Amber, & Delia; nephew Michael with his wife Heidi, and many others dear to her. Lucille was predeceased by her father Alfred Lemay and mother Margaret Lemay; her sister Gloriette, and her husband of 35 years, John Crawford.

There will be a celebration of life for Lucille late spring/early summer of 2025.
