Obituary

Marcia J. Keefe

Saco

Marcia J. Keefe, 64, of Saco, passed away Monday morning on October 31, 2022, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Marcia was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on February 25, 1958, a daughter of Frank and Joan (Mendzela) Keefe.  She was educated in the Manchester school system, and graduated from Manchester Central High School, class of 1976.  Marcia went on to receive her bachelor's degree in education from UNH, class of 1980.

Marcia had a long career working as an educator, teaching for 25 years. She later entered the healthcare industry working as a medical secretary for 12 years at SMHC.

In 1996, Marcia married her beloved husband Glenn Charette.

Marcia enjoyed making beautiful artwork with items from her favorite place including beach stones and driftwood, which she would display and sell at local businesses. She was a beach lover and an animal lover, and was especially fond of her two cats, Anna and Maddie.

Marcia was vibrant, always the life of any gathering. She was full of life, joy and sunshine and would bring a smile to everyone's face when she walked in the room. She could easily hold a conversation and make friends with anyone, warm and caring, no one was a stranger for long. She was always anxious for the dark days of winter in Maine to be replaced by the warm sunny days of summer. Most of all she enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends.  She will be dearly missed by many.

Marcia is survived by her husband Glenn Charette; her five children, Ryan, Kevin and wife Ramsey, Dawn, Danny and wife Heather, Dori and husband Phil; her seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sarah, Brandon, Samantha, Cody, Kaden and Kaylee.  She is also survived by four siblings, Dan, David, Donna, and Paul.

Visiting Hours will be from 2 to 4PM on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, Saco.  In honor of Marcia's favorite color, if family and friends desire please wear blue for the visiting hours.  A private burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marcia's name to the Animal Welfare Society, PO Box 43, West Kennebunk, Maine, 04094. https://animalwelfaresociety.org/give/
