Melissa Winchester (Hunt), 70, of Bucksport, Maine, passed peacefully on February 16, 2025, at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. She was born on September 14, 1954, in Randolph, Vermont, to James Hunt and Marilyn (Barbour) Hunt. Melissa was predeceased by her son Christopher Newcomb.

She loved cooking and feeding people as often as she could.  She would spend her summers gardening and doing yard work.  Most of all, she really loved her cats and always talked about how they were such good company.

Melissa is lovingly survived by her husband Wade Winchester, her older brother Clark Hunt and his wife, Polly, her older sister Andrea Hunt and her partner, Ken, her son Matt Newcomb and his wife, Esia and two daughters Sydney and Kaylei.

Melissa was a good wife, good mom, and a good soul.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
