Muriel P. Pelletier

Old Orchard Beach

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Muriel P. Pelletier of Old Orchard Beach. She passed away on January 25, 2026 after a lengthy illness with her family by her side. Muriel was born on November 19, 1938 in Lyman to Emile and Simonne Labbe. She attended Biddeford schools.

In 1957, she met the love of her life, Henry Pelletier, and they were married at St. Joseph's church in Biddeford on April 27, 1957. They went on to have three children. She was a stay-at-home mom and kept busy raising their children, cooking, baking, entertaining friends and family, as well as bookkeeping for her husband's many business ventures. She also had a strong love for reading and shared many novels with her family and friends.

After selling their large home on Grayson Street in Biddeford, Muriel and Henry retired to their beachfront condo in Old Orchard Beach, where they would entertain their grandchildren and great grandchildren at the ocean or by the pool. She had an immense and passionate love for family. She enjoyed watching the many activities of each of them.

Muriel was the oldest of eight children and as a result would often times help her mother with the younger siblings. Caring for people came naturally to her and she always had a smile to share, finding the good in everyone. Coming from a close knit family she would meet her siblings for coffee every Tuesday morning at a local restaurant in Saco. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and unforgettable memories.

Muriel was predeceased by her granddaughter, Angela; her great grandson, Eric; her brother Leonel Labbe; her sister Rita Whitten; and sister-in-law Avis Labbe.

She is survived by her daughters, Lucille Lank and her spouse Del, and Shelley Pelletier and her partner Fred Hoyer; by her son Steven Pelletier; by her grandchildren, Karen Leclerc and her partner Evan Rosset and her son Nicholas and his daughter Morgan, as well as Chuck Leclerc and spouse Melissa and their children Andre and Zoey. She is also survived by her sisters, Lucille Compagna and husband Roger, Claudette Lachance and husband Rene, and Joan Savoy and husband Larry; by her brothers, Richard Labbe and Roger Labbe; by her sister-in-law Rita Labbe; as well as by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Services are private.  Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Biddeford.
